ABout The Founder

I started my loss weight journey in 2011. I weighed 102kgs and dress size was 24.

It was through eating the wrong food and never crossed my mind the changes that took place “then” because I was happy and never realised how bad things were getting. But one day it was like a wakeup call. I started having difficulty doing simple small things like going up the stairs, getting out of breath and always tired (fatigue) symptoms kicked in and very little energy or none at all.

Secondly, I come from a family with diabetes. Literally, I was on the verge of getting to that direction if I did not take action. I went to see my GP and was told I was overweight and high risk of a heart attack and of course diabetes. He then gave me a referral to see a dietitian. For me that was a wakeup call. I felt sad and reality kicked in.

So, I decided to take things into my own hands and refused to be a prisoner to food or even to be controlled by it. I did not see the dietician. Generally, I am a very good cook and never lived on frozen foods nor takeaways but that’s beside the point. The reason I gained so much weight was just eating too much and finding comfort in cakes(anything sweet) especially when am low or just hungry at any time. Eating at wrong times including drinking lots of tea using full cream milk and 4 to 4 teaspoons of sugar. You can just imagine the amount of sugar that was going into my body. Water was never something I drunk. I lived on fizzy drinks as my thirst quencher.

Eating fried food, cakes, loads of white carbs, chocolate, cream doughnuts and less water, no exercise lead me to weight gain. Time came for me to change. I had no other way but to put my health first and compromising with food. I changed my eating habits and food shopping to more vegetables, white meat, loads of fruit and drinking a lot of water, about 2 litres a day. It was tough and challenging but I told myself that I will persevere and no obstacle will ever stand in my way stopping me from achieving my goal to become that young vibrate woman before I gained weight.

It takes a long time to adapt to the change but once you have that mindset, anyone can do it. Perseverance and determination is key. I lost more than 30kg in 1 1/2 years. Rome was not built in a day. It’s not a sprint but a marathon. My weight dropped from 102 to 64kg. Dress size dropped from 24 to a size 6. I have managed to maintain my weight for more than 5 years. Consistency and dedication is key .There is no point after all that hard work going back to my old bad habits. You health is your number one priory. You are your own reflection you see in the mirror. Nothing can change if you are not ready mentally and physically to take that first step.

I joined DW Fitness 17 months ago, I wanted to change my body shape to build muscle and maintain it. I trained 5 times a week. I did high intensity exercises and weightlifting which I love a lot.The classes I did were body combat, circuits, HIIT and body pump . All my classes target different parts of my body. I fell in love with the whole process and that inspired me to take this further and change people’s lives out there.

Because of my passion and the transformation I achieved on my own with the help of researching more about nutrition and losing weight. I embarked on a journey to train as a Personal Trainer to help other people struggling with weight issues and lacking the knowledge of how to begin making those life style changes. With my overall experience, skills, using my own journey and training as an example, it’s my aim to help you to get through those Barriers and obstacles preventing you from making those chang
